New beginnings!

The past month has been difficult. I continue to struggle finding ways to get my book read. I feel as if I’m swimming upstream and all I’m getting is weary. As a Christian, I prayed that God would help me with directions in how to market my book, but even that isn’t helping. I’ve wondered if writing my book was something God wanted me to do. If so, why did it take over 20 years and why isn’t it more successful?  These questions may get answered or just stay inside my soul. One thing positive I did do this past month, was go and be a part of a  women’s retreat. I was given the opportunity to sell my book and present Tess as a real woman who had become a new believer in Christianity. Since I’m a living history performer, and have been for many years, bringing Tess to life in front of an audience, opened my eyes to new possibilities. Tess is a fictional character, but I could bring her story to life, by being her. After all, I’m the author. Now, if I can follow through with this and get churches, women’s groups, and other venues that are interested in meeting Tess, my quest for telling Tess’s story will become my New Beginnings. That sounds exciting!

  1. That sounds like a good plan. We live in a animated world. People respond to things that are presented to them. That’s why churches have live bands I think. People need motivation, and presenting your book as a living character will grab their attention. I look forward to seeing Tess talk about her conversion and giving hints of her journey in your book.

  2. Thanks for that observation! Bringing Tess to life through my living history hopefully will make people see how even someone like Tess can change for the better!
